SAY NO MORE (Mixtape) - WAVY DINERO

Whenever a certain subgenre resurfaces after a long period of absence, someone will always arise with it out of nowhere & bring that sound back with new life. 🌬 And in his newest project, “Say No More” Wave Dinero embraces some of the less-prominent, yet ever-rising aspects in hip-hop, incorporating a wide variety of stylistics that range from, lo-fi, trap & even jazz. 🎷 This stood out to me upon the first listen, as it seemed like a project that was put together by an artist that finds solace in embracing & exploring the truest & most genuine aspects of hip-hop rather than just its “popularity-based” facets. 🎨 As the first three lo-fi dense tracks set the standard for the mixtape to follow, he provided the absolute most ideal backdrop for his dramatic & immensely thematic lyrics to shine brightly throughout. 🌟 His personality is in full effect as he constantly rotates through various different cadences, deliveries, & intonations within his Rolodex of styles, providing even more depth to the offering than expected. 🎭 And even while some lines seem to come off as being somewhat soft or quiet, he steadily keeps power & conviction that doesn’t necessarily come off as arrogant, but rather confident in his abilities. 💯 Beyond that, from “MF” forwards, despite the production now getting more heavier, his flow & lyricism stays as light as a feather. 🥀 And although his demeanor might sound unphased & casual, some of the more sensitive topics he delves into such as on “Ambition”, oppose his charisma incredibly, making anyone who’s not on his side of the argument want to tuck tail & run. 🏃🏾‍♂️💨 When broken down to its most finite aspects however, he seemingly infused a number of external sounds, samples & influences to create an experience that has certainly not been heard before, as hardly any of his songs sound even remotely similar whatsoever, taking you on a metaphorical rollercoaster ride from track to track. 🎢  In terms of diversity & versatility, it’s definitely an excellent sign of things to come leading into 2021.
