SAUCE ISLAND - Deluxe Edition (Album) - Yung Stevie

Yung Stevie has been making an impact on the low and has been an artist that has been on my radar for a while now. ⏳ Since his first EP “Western Culture” back in 2018, he has surprisingly kept his pedal on the floor and has been determined since day one to stand out form the crowd and from the first listen of his new album “Sauce Island” what stood out to me was the fact that his vocal performance on this project is better than anything he has delivered in his past discography. 📝 A claim like this can be made simply due to the fact that he does well to perfectly match almost every single beat that Albert laid out for him with his dynamic presence alone. 🎙🔥 His voice seems to seep into the swirling synths and powerful ends that make up each track’s setting as a whole. 🍜 Taking this inflection alone, his overall performance carries a trudging yet magnetic flow that does all it needs to in moving the songs forward at their appropriate pace. 🎶 His energy remains enigmatic; his delivery entrancing, his flow is faultless, not to mention his lyricism and subtle wordplay have never been more effective than ever. 💰 There are several memorable tracks on this project and one of the standouts here is “The Light”, which acts as an emphatic example of how he absolutely skates over what is easily a top-three instrumental on this project to me. 🌟 Another highlight and possibly the hardest track is “Paranoid” which is an effortlessly hard cut powered by a simplistic yet knocking beat that could not have been better complimented than by Jovie Jovv & Baraka, who just hop on the track and just straight up spazz out. 😈 I have enjoyed the growth + progression of Stevie’s music so far, and I can straight up say this is a much more polished presentation of his sound, making “Sauce Island” a project that you can just put on, ride out to and catch a vibe. 💯
