DEMO16 (EP) - JOMANDE

“Demo16” is a five-track adventure that takes many sonic twists & turns along the way, as Jomande takes listeners on a bit of a journey throughout his musical abilities, boasting so many different sounds & out-of-the-box styles that very few would actually be able to life. 🎭 The project begins with “Choose Your Weapon” which does well to draw you in from the very moment of this project’s inception. And while his flows might not be overly complex in this first song, don’t worry, because he gets there before you even know it. 📝 In fact, the very next song “Solo” ramps up the hastiness of his words, as the rolling, almost mysterious beat creates a foundation for him to come in & play around, acting as if he’s just toying with listeners while still hiding something else up his sleeve. 🎙✨And sure enough, he starts to really show his true hand on “Gold”, an extremely hard-hitting song in terms of thunderous 808s & intense production, teaming up with tg.blk to get lost & go completely off the rails, resulting in some of the most impressive verses on the tape itself. 🤝🔥 Meanwhile, the remaining half of this project goes back to the lighter, more buoyant melodies, as he starts to gets even more introspective on “Hercules”, as he does well to highlight some of the internal dialogue that can often consume our minds during some of our lowest lows. 💭 He finally closes the album with “Mr. Fantastic “ whose production does well to balance out the weight of the song’s lyrics with driving instrumentation that mirrors the song’s subject matter with crashing cymbals & bright guitar chords. 🎸 I can say that I am pleasantly surprised by this project & I also have to strongly commend the album sequencing, as everything really was in the perfect order. 💽 And whether you’re a fan of hard, aggressive rap anthems or softer, more melodious ballads, this is the perfect project to playback if you’re cruising around the city, smoking with your friends, or just wanting to sit back & vibe. 🎧 It’s like he says, “I do the most for the culture without even leaving my living room”. 💯
